Ordination to the Diaconate
By God's grace, on Friday, May 14, 2021, we celebrated the ordination to the diaconate of Christian Flagstadt from Holy Family Parish in Flat Rock (Gladstone), and Brandon Yanni from Holy Name of Mary Parish (our proto-cathedral) in Sault Sainte Marie!
God-willing, these two good men will be ordained to the priesthood next spring. Although the ordination was by invitation-only due to current seating limitations, we ask for your prayers for these men, their families, and for vocations!

CCM 2021 Graduates 🎓
Please join us in praying for the 143 Catholic campus ministry 2021 graduates from Lake Superior State University, Northern Michigan University, and Michigan Tech University. “Our campus ministries are the greatest place of evangelical opportunity in the church. The decisions you make in college really reverberate into the rest of your life,” says Fr. Ben Hasse, Diocesan Director of Campus Ministry. Madi Hollman, MTU Campus Ministry Student, says, “Being involved in CM is essential because it allows me to integrate my faith into my everyday life. It was the best experience of my life!"

Season of Hope
The pandemic impacted all of us on many different levels including our spiritual life. Scripture tells us that, “after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you.” (1Peter 5:10). Bishop’s call back to Mass is a sign of hope during what has been a time of suffering.
The Diocesan Evangelization Council has created a resource for the faithful and parishes entitled Season of Hope as the diocesan church returns to the public celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. A special thank you to Matt Buchmiller, vice-president of the council, for his leadership in developing this resource which can be accessed here.
