Sacred Heart, Champion, 150th Anniversary Celebration

Sacred Heart Parish, Champion, recognized its 150th anniversary on Sunday, June 25, with a Mass celebrated by Bishop John Doerfler and dinner lead by Sister Margey Schmelzle, pastoral coordinator. Concelebrating the Mass were Fathers Ryan Ford, Gregory Heikkala, Christian Flagstadt and Daniel Moll. Following the dinner, Sister Margey gave a short talk that was met with a standing ovation from parishioners and visitors.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Mission Groundbreaking, Bay Mills

A groundbreaking was held on June 14, 2023 at the site where St. Kateri Tekakwitha Mission will be rebuilt in Bay Mills. The church was destroyed by a fire in May 2021. Father Dominic Yamoah Afrifa, pastor, and Father Timothy Ekaitis, vicar general of the Diocese of Marquette, led the groundbreaking.
