St. Anne, Chassell Faith Formation Addition Mass and Blessing

Parishioners of St. Anne Parish in Chassell look on as Bishop John Doerfler prays prior to blessing the new faith formation addition at the parish after a Mass held on April 6. The new addition is dedicated to Sister Ellen Enright, IBVM, who served at St. Anne's for many years. Bishop Doerfler was the principal celebrant at Mass held before the blessing of the new addition. Frs. Ben Hasse and Romeo Cappella concelebrated and Dcn. Tom Corrigan assisted. Attendees enjoyed food and fellowship at a reception after the Mass and blessing of the addition.

“I believe God is calling me to life as a Carmelite nun,” said Madeleine McIlheran, an aspirant for the Discalced Carmelite Monastery of the Holy Cross in Iron Mountain. “The Carmelites adore Jesus in the Eucharist; I love Jesus and want to make him happy, and I seek to focus on him all the time because he deserves it.”

Indulgences and Intentions of the Holy Father
Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025. In response to questions about indulgences and prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father in the time of the vacant see, Bishop John Doerfler said:
"For the plenary indulgence during the Vacant See, we still do pray for the intentions of the Holy Father. He publishes his monthly intentions for a year at a time. These intentions are thus still in force. His successor, of course, can change these intentions if he so wishes."
