Seminarian Retreat 2025

The annual retreat for the seminarians of the Diocese of Marquette was held Aug. 10-13 at Holy Rosary Parish in Grand Marais. The retreat was also open to young men discerning the priesthood. On Aug. 12, Mass was celebrated at the parish by Bishop John Doerfler. Fr. Ben Hasse, vocations director, concelebrated and Dcn. Drew Langton was the assisting deacon. The seminarians then went to the Log Slide Overlook after Mass and lunch for an outdoor expedition.

Sister Jacqueline Spaniola, OSF and fellow sisters elected to Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity leadership

The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity elected sisters to serve on their new general administration council. Sister Jacqueline Spaniola, OSF was elected third councilor. Fall Festival to benefit

The Carmelite Fall Festival, formerly known as the Silver Tea, will be held on Sept. 13-14, 2025, from noon to 3 p.m. (CT) and will benefit the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Iron Mountain. The Discalced Carmelite Nuns greatly appreciate all current and past support of the Fall Festival.
This year, the event will again be held at the monastery and will be hosted by St. Mary Parish in Norway and St. Barbara Parish in Vulcan. The festival is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. There will be baked goods, arts and crafts, a basket drawing, and plate lunch. The Sisters’ famous bread will also be available for purchase.
