Dear Friends,
As we prepare to once again gather joyfully together at our parishes (see the Bishop's directive below) and greet familiar faces, I am hopeful that we will see some new faces too.
Many anticipate this time of the pandemic will give rise to a resurgence in the Church, bringing back not only marginal Catholics but those who have been away from the Church for a long time. Let us be like the parishioners at St. Joseph's, in the photo above, and prepare to welcome them back as a reminder of our call to evangelization.

With restrictions loosening in Michigan, Bishop Doerfler released a new set of directives that began on May 19, 2020.
Please note that every parish has flexibility within the directives, so watch for specific details from your parish.

June 5th Ordination
On June 5th, Deacons Thomas Merkel and Romeo Cappella will be ordained to the priesthood and Ben Rivard will be ordained a transitional deacon. Prayer Garden Blessed
On May 9, Bishop Doerfler blessed the Baraga Prayer Garden in a socially-distanced small gathering. Interested individuals were able to join the event live via Zoom. The prayer garden is located at the Baraga Educational Center in Marquette.
Totus Tuus Goes Virtual!
The show will go on! The ever popular summer Totus Tuus program, sponsored by Legacy of Faith, will happen digitally this year! Missionaries are preparing now for the change to this event. For details, watch Fr. Ben Hasse's video shown here and register yourself, your kids, and your parish here.
CSS Welcomes Licensing Specialist
Catholic Social Services of the Upper Peninsula welcomes Neena Brunngraeber to its child welfare staff as a home licensing specialist. Brunngraeber will seek to ensure the safety and prevalence of foster homes throughout the U.P. for vulnerable children. See The U.P. Chrism Mass

Food Pantry Donations
St. Michael's (Marquette) offered its help to their local St. Vincent de Paul by being a collection site for food, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items. Together, with donations from the community, over 1745 pounds has been given. Please consider helping them reach their goal of 1 TON (2000 lbs.) by the last collection day, May 31st.
